DFS: special offer for pilots during Tannkosh 2013

Tannkosh 2013:

Clearance to win – every 100th pilot gets a Visual Flight Guide and a flight cap

DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, the German air navigation service provider, will be giving away the electronic version of the AIP VFR Germany as well as a flight cap to every hundredth pilot who lands at the Tannkosh Fly-In, which will take place from 23 to 25 August in Tannheim, Germany. DFS will also be presenting their aeronautical publications, flight information service (FIS) and pre-flight information service.

After landing, every hundredth pilot will receive a coupon while registering with which they can pick up an annual subscription to the Visual Flight Guide and the flight cap at the DFS stand. The Visual Flight Guide includes the complete German Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) VFR as well as numerous practical functions to aid in flight planning.

At the DFS stand, visitors will be treated to an up-close look at pilot supplies as kneeboards or flight bags as well as at aeronautical charts, educational software and apps. This year, as in previous ones, visitors to the DFS stand may order aeronautical publications free of shipping costs. In addition, a number of products will be available at reduced prices.

In addition, a staff member of the Aeronautical Information Service Centre (AIS-C) will be there to support visitors in filing flight plans and retrieving NOTAM briefings. Upon request, he will also provide information about the current functions of the AIS Portal, which offers a wide range of options in the area of pre-flight briefing, such as the new VFReBulletin.

You will also find a mobile radar simulator at the stand where visitors can play the role of the FIS controller and go through different training scenarios. Herwart Goldbach, head of FIS in Langen, gives numerous presentations about airspace Echo, collision avoidance measures and sensor systems, or entry into airspaces subject to clearance.

DFS presentations will take place in the Tannkosh Briefing tent.
