De Havilland DH 84 Dragon: welcome Aer Lingus Iolar (Eagle)!

Dear Tannkosh-Crews and visitors,

we are happy to announce, for the first time during Tannkosh 2013, the visit of the AER LINGUS De Havilland DH 84 Iolar (Eagle)!

The DH 84 Dragon will be a special guest during Tannkosh and can be admired from thursday until sunday. The Crew has offered to welcome visitors aboard the aircraft. It is an honour for us to welcome this rare and beautifully restaured aircraft to Tannkosh! Built in 1936, the EI-ABI has been on line as a passenger transport aircraft at Western Airways and Scottish Airways, until it was commandeered by the Royal Air Force in 1940 for troup transports. The aircraft returned to Ireland in 1950, and was restaured during a long ground time by Aer Lingus to the original colours. The EI-ABI has been back in the air since 2011, and is now operated by the AER Lingus Foundation. The dedicated people of the Aer Lingus Foundation have put hard work into the project of conserving an important part of Irish Aviation History.

The Iolar (irish for "eagle") will also join the Tannkosh flying display - so we are looking forward to seeing it in the air!

Welcome to Tannkosh, Aer Lingus Iolar and CREW!
